In Anime Tactical Simulator, pulling a rare unit is only half the battle. To truly reach your maximum DPS potential, you must utilize the Evolution Room located in the main lobby.
Evolving (or Ascending) units doesn't just add flat stats; it introduces massive percentage-based damage multipliers that are completely separate from your traits.
How the Evolution System Works
To evolve a unit, you must visit the Freerin NPC in the Laboratory area of the lobby. Evolving a unit requires two things: Limited/Mythic Souls and Duplicate Units [cite: 1034-1036].
The evolution milestones are incredibly rewarding:
- First Evolution (2 Stars): Grants a flat 25% damage increase to the unit[cite: 1065].
- Second Evolution (3 Stars): Requires significantly more Souls and multiple duplicate sacrifices, but grants a massive 75% total damage multiplier[cite: 1039, 1066].
Warning: You must sacrifice the exact same unit to perform an evolution. You cannot use a random Epic unit to evolve a Mythic unit [cite: 960-962].
Exclusive Items and The Vending Machine
Some exclusive units require more than just souls to reach their full potential. For example, if you manage to pull Alucard (a 1% drop rate unit), you can also roll for his exclusive pistols at the Vending Machine.
These exclusive artifacts often act as Best-in-Slot (BiS) accessories, increasing ability damage by up to 75% when equipped [cite: 968-969].
The Secret Scaling of Waifu Units
If you purchase the 'Dress Up My Waifu' bundle, you might be confused by their initial low stats. These units have a hidden mechanic.
Pro Tip: Units like Aqua do not rely on base levels. Instead, they automatically scale to deal exactly 70% of the damage of your highest damaging unit [cite: 1099-1100]. This makes them incredible filler units if you have one hyper-invested carry (like a fully ascended Igris or Sun Jinwoo).
